Land transfer tax refund

Applicable if you are a first time buyer of a newly constructed home or condominium registered with Tarion ( the new home warranty program) and have never owned a home. You or your spouse must be at least 18 years old and never have owned an interest in a home anywhere in the world.

Partnership Purchase - If for example father and son buy a home, or any two non spouses and only one (with 50% interest) is a first time buyer, the first time buyer can claim a refund of the lower of the 50% of the Land Transfer tax or the maximum allowable refund of $2,000.00
